TOPIC: Righteousness – A Key To Insight (Seeds Of Destiny 11 June 2022)
SCRIPTURE: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21.
THOUGHT FOR DAY: Filthiness of the spirit prevents the revelations of the Word of God.
MESSAGE:
The Scripture makes it clear that the Word of God is calculated to generate good in the lives of people, family, nation, or generation. The Word of God is calculated for good (Isaiah 39:8).
Please understand this: The target of the Word of God is to arrest evil and establish good in the lives and destinies of God’s people.
Now, how do we encounter the Spirit of the Word of God?
Uprightness brings insight, therefore, embrace uprightness; embrace righteousness.
James 1:21 says:
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
There can be no insight in iniquity. Insight answers to uprightness. Filthiness of the spirit prevents the revelations of the Word of God. The defilement of the conscience denies you access to the Word of God. Anything that makes your conscience guilty is preventing you from seeing what God is showing; it is preventing you from hearing what God is saying.
This means, iniquity frustrates spiritual sensitivity. Iniquity arrests receptivity. It is not possible to be iniquitous and be receptive to Divine revelation and insight. There is something that dies inside you when you commit sin – your spiritual sensitivity dies with iniquity.
That is why a sinner can be in a spirit-charged atmosphere and be wondering what is happening. When he sees people dancing, jumping, worshipping and lying down before God during worship sessions in church services, he is just wondering what is going on. This is because his spirit is dead. Until God breaks through him, he can feel nothing.
My counsel is, make up your mind to maintain a clean spirit so you can access the revelations of the Word of God.
REMEMBER THIS: Filthiness of the spirit prevents the revelations of the Word of God.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Make up your mind to maintain uprightness in life so you can access revelations from the Word of God.
- Refuse to live in guilt.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to always maintain uprightness of Spirit Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
