The Godswill Akpabio Unity Choir, organized by the Akwa Ibom State Government Protocol office, was today, officially listed in the Guinness World Records as the Largest Group of Carol Singers in the world, in London. The Unity choir had on December 13, 2014 at the Uyo Township Stadium presented 25,382 carol singers in the record attempt.
The Guinness World Records in an official statement however, gave the official figure as 25,272. The site writes:
"The largest group of carol singers was 25,272 by Godswill Akpabio unity choir (Nigeria) at the Uyo Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom,Nigeria, on 13 December 2014. The choir sang a medley of The First Noel, Joy To The World, O Christmas Tree, Hark The Herald Sing, Once In Royal Davids City and O Come All Ye Faithful".
