TOPIC: The Nakedness Of Life (Seeds Of Destiny 7 May 2024)
SCRIPTURE: And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Everyone came into this world naked, and everyone will also leave this world naked.
MESSAGE:
There was a great man in history called Alexander the great. This man was great and renowned in most parts of the world in his days.
It was said that at the point of death, he told his army generals, “It is obvious that I am going to die, but before I die, I ask that you do these three things for me.”
Then one of his generals replied, “We can do anything for you. What do you want us to do for you sir?”
Then he told them, “First, when I die, let my doctors carry me on their shoulders to the graveyard and bury me there. Second, let all the money, gold and silver that I have gathered from around the world be poured on the ground between my house and the gravesite. Third, bury me with my hands opened.”
His generals were confused by his request and so they asked him, “Anything you say, we will do; but what is the meaning of these instructions?”
Then he told them, “Let my doctors carry me on their shoulders to let the world know that in the day of death, no doctor can save you. Pour the money on the ground so that people would know that money is not different from the earth. And bury me with an opened hand to tell the world that I didn’t take anything from this world”
What a great lesson! Everyone came into this world naked and everyone would also leave this world naked. You will not carry any gold or silver along with you to eternity. And if you would not go to eternity with your wealth, do not allow the riches of the world hinder you from serving God. Make up your mind to live for God. Live with the consciousness of eternity.
Remember this: Everyone came into this world naked and everyone would also leave this world naked.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Always be conscious of the fact that you came into this world naked, and you shall leave naked.
- Let this consciousness help you adjust your life to live right for God.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You help me to live right. Take away from me anything that will make me to lose the consciousness of eternity, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
