TOPIC: The Tithe – Victory Over Mammon (Seeds Of Destiny 4 May 2023)
SCRIPTURE: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. – Matthew 6:24
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until money is conquered, the worship of God is not confirmed.
MESSAGE:
It has been established that the payment of the tithe is a proof of man’s wilful obedience to God’s Word. On the other hand, the refusal to pay the tithe confirms man’s disobedience to God and His Word.
The second thing that the payment of the tithe does is the confirmation of the tither’s victory over mammon. If you are a tither, the tithe confirms your victory over the power of greed and covetousness.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that no man can serve two masters; for either he will hate one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
I would like you to understand that the only thing that struggles to be worshipped as if it is God is money. Money is a worship commander and demander. That is why many people in this world are mastered or enslaved by money. People kill and sell their bodies in prostitution to get money. Others engage in all sorts of dubious and unimaginable things for the sake of money.
Please understand this: until money is conquered, the worship of God is not confirmed. That is why our anchor Scriptures says that no one can serve God and money (Matthew 6:24).
The truth is, you can serve God with money but you cannot serve God and money. Money can be a wonderful servant but a terrible master. It is either you master money or money masters you; it is either you enslave money or money enslaves you.
Non-tithers are people who have been mastered and enslaved by their money.
That will not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: Until money is conquered, the worship of God is not confirmed.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Refuse to struggle with payment of tithe.
- Demonstrate your control over mammon by giving God His portion in your possession called the tithe.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for opening my eyes to see what the tithe represents. I receive the grace to demonstrate my control over mammon by releasing my tithe to You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
