Worship is our innermost being responding with praise for all that God is, acknowledging him for who he is and in this way glorify and honour him through our attitudes, actions, thoughts and words, based on the truth of God as he has revealed himself. (Rev 4:11, 5:12)
Worship is not something we “work up”; it is something that “comes down” to us, from the character of God.
Also, Worship is the submission of all our nature to God, it is the quickening of conscience by his holiness, the nourishment of the mind with his truth, the purifying of the imagination of his beauty, the opening of the heart to his love and the surrender of the will to his purpose.
Having highlighted all these, IN WHAT MANNER THEN SHOULD WE WORSHIP?
We must worship in Truth Psalms 145:18; worship is not just an emotional exercise but a response of the heart built on truth about God
We must worship in spirit John 4: 23- 24; to worship in spirit is to draw near to God with an undivided heart, coming in full agreement without holding anything or disregarding his will.
NOTE: WORSHIP that is not based on God’s word is but an emotional encounter with one self. Real worship is that of the heart! As you commence this week, the object of your worship should be God and God alone, the lord of everything in our lives. He is indeed, the most high God!
