The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir Set To Put On Free Concert Celebrating 29th Album Release 'Pray'

The sixth-time Grammy award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is gearing up to release their upcoming album Pray and is offering free CD give-a-ways as well as putting on a mega concert in New York City.

Led by Carol Cymbala the multiple Dove Award winning group is comprised of over 200 choir members and has likewise recorded over 200 songs. Pray is the groups 29th studio album is set for a Feb. 10th release. The album will return to their staple sound featuring 14 new songs.

Pray was created from a live recording done at the choir's home church in downtown Brooklyn, New York City. The album's first single also titled "Pray" was the second most added song in gospel radio on its first week of release.

The Brooklyn Tabernacle has always managed to stay below the radar despite the massive success they have had with their choir and that is largely because the church is taught to esteem God alone. "I just want to see people drawn to Jesus Christ. I want the music to be the arrow that points them to him," Carol Cymbala is quoted saying on the choirs Facebook page.

"With so many tragic events happening in the world today, Pray serves as a reminder of the importance of having a relationship with Jesus, because communion is what He longs for His people to have with Him," says Carol in a press release, "My hope is that the songs on this album will draw believers and non-believers to worship and believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

The dynamic 3 part choir is offering free CD give-a-ways on their Facebook page and will be performing live on Sunday Feb 8th at 2:45 pm for a free concert at 17 Smith St, Brooklyn New York. The concert can be seen HERE.

Over the years, the choir has sung at hallowed venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and Carnegie Hall. They've appeared on Good Morning America and other national television programs. Their amazing legacy includes six Grammy Awards, seven Dove Awards, two #1 Billboard charting CDs and over four million albums sold. The choir performed "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, which had a worldwide viewing audience of over a billion people. Its previous CD, Love Lead the Way, debuted at #1 on iTunes Christian/Gospel Albums chart in 2014.
