Stevein Oil lived most of his life in his cosmopolitan birth city of Accra and growing on the multi-genre nature of his music-loving home, Stevein Oil brings to the table an amazing blend of music styles.
Dedicating most of his life to listening and singing all forms of music, Steve has become a deep pool of urban music that is consciously blended with indigenous rhythms and flavours.
Though he’s had every opportunity to branch into other genres, his upbringing and Kingdom Mindedness has helped keep his focus on doing music that brings and keeps people closer to Heaven.
In 2007, Stevein Oil's song beat that of thousands of others from all over Africa, including some very prominent Ghanaian music stars, to win him the 1st place prize in the CAN 2008 Song Writing Contest. His gift as a song writer and composer is undoubtedly rich and different. This combined with his loaded singing skill, makes him an artiste you would love to hear over and again.
His maiden single Ese (Eshey) is a remake of a popular Nigerian song; in this piece, Oil adds up a verse to the already popular church chorus to give it a better sense of completion. On Ese, Stevein Oil gathers some of Ghana's best known musical fingers such as Zapp Mallet, Phillip Aquah, Owura, Bludo Junior, Alfre Wiafe, Ike Waveward and Kuuku of Soul winners fame with arrangements by Horst Koranteng. Their vast experience and skill gives the singer a heavy and rich instrumentation to fall upon. Accompanying the video, is a sleek and simple music video shot by clock work and edited by digicom and redInk Communication which has been made available on youtube.
