Welcome Message By Pastor E. A Adeboye At The 62nd RCCG Annual Convention

It is with joy and gladness that we want to welcome you to this year’s convention, our 62nd Annual Convention with the theme: The Holy Spirit. This theme makes the convention more than any other one the convention of the Holy Spirit Himself. Who is the Holy Spirit? There are number of ways to answer this question. However simply put, the Holy Spirit is a Divine Helper. We have always realized how much we are able to achieve if and when assisted. One can then appreciate what level of success awaits anyone who is helped by the Holy Spirit in person. This year’s convention is therefore, specifically for those who are thirsty for divine help, those who are tired of the state they ‘ve been in, those who know things can be a lot better if only help can come in their direction.

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Helper who teaches and bring all things into our remembrance (John 14:26). The reason the Christian life of many believers might have been very uninteresting and dry is because divine illumination which the Holy Spirit produces through His word is largely absent. If only we would open ourselves fully to the Holy Spirit at this convention, help will come our way and we shall go back home rejuvenated and bubbling in joy of the Holy Spirit. Dryness will become a thing of the past.
The Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2). These are great and awesome work of grace the Holy Spirit produces in the lives of His people. As we come thirsty and not for a jamboree, it is expected that before the convention is over, many of us will say “I have indeed come to keep an appointment with destiny”. For instance what wisdom and understanding impacted, students who have been having it rough in their academics despite all they put in, it will be their turn to smile. They shall receive help and exam failure will begin to change to stories of exam success.

The Holy Spirit as a Divine Helper rekindles hope (Romans 15:13). It is therefore, time for the hopeless to abound again in hope. Because hope makes not ashamed (Romans 5:5), we are trusting God that through this convention, shame will be terminated where found in our lives. The barren shall shall be helped and they shall become fruitful, the sick and the afflicted shall obtain help and shall be healed, help will flow in the direction of the bound and they shall be set free, the forgotten shall be remembered at last, every good thing that might have died in our lives shall come alive again, there shall be uncommon signs and wonders. They shall all be divinely helped.

The Holy Spirit empowers as seen in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 10:38). If by the empowering of the Holy Spirit the Lord Jesus was helped to succeed concerning His mission to the world, we are persuaded that as we come in contact with the Divine Helper through this year’s convention, we can begin to look forward to reaching our goals, crawling ministries will be helped to come alive again, there shall be multiplication of churches (Acts 9:31), power for signs and wonders will be impacted on the thirsty and we will leave with a brand new beginning ready to face the future with rekindled hope.

It is for this purpose we would really want to encourage seriousness at this year’s convention. Make up your mind not to miss the visitation of the Holy Spirit and present yourself in every meeting with prayers and expectation. Keep the Camp holy and clean so as not to grieve the Holy Spirit and observe all rules. You will return home with help and counsel that will make you’re a new person

You are once more welcome.

Pastor E.A Adeboye,
General Overseer
