Congratulations to Tamela Mann, whose hit single “Take Me To The King” has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) having sold over 500,000 digital copies. Tillymann Music Group label head,Tamela‘s manager and husband, David Mann, presentedher with the RIAA Certified Gold plaque during their Comedy and Concert event on Friday, August 1 at the Victoria Fine Arts Center in Victoria, Texas.
The single, penned by Kirk Franklin, is the lead single for Mann’s chart topping 2012 release Best Days. The album spent 30 weeks atop the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart while the single topped the Billboard Hot Gospel Airplay chart for over 25 weeks. The song would go on to win “Song of the Year” at the 2014 Stellar Awards and lead Mann to win seven Stellar Awards this year. “Take Me To The King” was also named one of the most performed songs on Gospel radio in 2013 during BMI‘s 2014 Christian Music Awards held at BMI in Nashville, TN and earned Mann her first Grammy nomination in 2013.

The song has become an anthem and has been performed on numerous TV appearances, including the BET Awards, BET Sunday Best, and ABC’s The View, continuing to catapult the track’s popularity and Mann’s celebrity.
