Over the past few years there has been a steady emergence of young artists who have burst onto the scene, representing the next generation of Gospel mega stars. You can add Joshua Gortman to that list, musically known as L.F.C (Lyricist for Christ).
With powerful vocals and perfect harmonic pitch, Lyricist for Christ (L.F.C), is a multi-talented singer-songwriter and producer. The 20 year old native of Long Island, NY is also well known as a professional musician, and aspiring preacher. He is a great asset to the music industry. L.F.C's sound incorporates a combination of Gospel with a spin of R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Inspirational genres.
He recognized the powerful impact of music at a very young age. As the youngest of three children born to Pastor Thomas Gortman and First Lady Barbara Gortman, he is the only child to pursue a career in music. L.F.C attended Roosevelt High School, from which he graduated four years later. Upon receiving his advanced regents diploma, Gortman was offered admission to Five Towns College where he studies Music with an emphasis on Audio Engineering and Recording Technology.
As the President of the Five Towns College Gospel Choir, L.F.C has had the opportunity to open for Bishop Hezekiah Walker and R&B Sensation, Kelly Price. He has also been privileged to perform at one of New York's finest venues, The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe on the Lower East Side. L.F.C has also had the chance to meet his #1 inspiration, Mali Music while singing an Acapella version of "Yahweh", which will be released at a later date. L.F.C considers himself to be a self-personified creator of music belonging to the Lord.
