BET’s Celebration of Gospel, The Essence Music Festival Gospel Tribute Concert, BET’s Lift Every Voice, GMC, The WE Network and The Oxygen Network are just a few National media platforms which have been instrumental in catapulting Gospel music in front of audiences worldwide.
Countless familiar and new Gospel artists have been given the opportunity to share and perform their music on all above mentioned stages.
These stages have been graced with artists such as, Kirk Franklin, Shirley Caesar, Mary Mary, The Clark Sisters, Deitrick Haddon and a few of Gospel’s Next including, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Jonathan McReynolds and Tasha Cobbs.
As the Gospel music genre continues to expand, the artists are also spreading their wings musically and with creative branding ideas.
As one of Gospel’s Next new and fresh voices, Corey Barksdale was recently asked to share his perspective on where the genre is headed:
“I believe Gospel music is becoming a global genre, with the advancement of technology, via social media, websites and online music stores, we have an opportunity to impact the nations in a matter of minutes.”
“Through the power of transparency, Gospel music has the potential to reach people and places more, than in earlier years.”
“As a songwriter, my lyrics will always be very honest, some of my songs mirror, conversations I have with God.”
Encouraging and reaching larger audiences has become a common goal within the Gospel music community and is being accomplished daily, as positive testimonies pour in from around the globe.
On, Saturday, June 7th, Corey Barksdale will link in with this goal through a television taping on Today’s Christian Artist show on the Total Living Network.
Corey’s TLN television performance will include his new and highly requested songs, “Persona” and “You’re Irreplaceable”.
Immediately following his Total Living Network television appearance, Corey will travel to Waukegan, IL for a live concert at Waukegan Community Church, 1016 Grand Ave. The live concert will begin at 7pm and Barksdale will meet with attendees, following his live performance.
