“We Are Sorry!” - Organizers Of Nigeria Gospel Music Video Awards Apologize After Poor Event


 
The organizers of the Nigeria Gospel Music Video Awards have apologized to the media and indeed to members of the public over the poorly organised award ceremony which turned out to be quite an embarrassing evening for the organisers and in a way the Nigerian gospel music industry.

“We the organizers of the Nigeria Gospel Music Video Video Awards use this medium to officially apologize to the Nigerian Populace, Christians, and the Nigeria Gospel Music Industry; for the poor outcome of the award nite on sat November 30th 2013. please forgive us: we promise to serve you better.” a public statement by Segunfunmi Adewale on behalf of the organisers on Facebook read.

The NGMVA has become a huge topic of discussion as the story of its failure has gone viral thanks to certain blogs who exposed the failure to the world.

NGMVA apology 
The event which was scheduled to begin at 4 pm started 3 hours later at 7 pm; The venue was also moved from the Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos to a lecture theatre, Afe Babalola Hall which made the setting appear like a classroom instead of an award ceremony. Some people who attended the event also confirmed that artistes who showed up for the event were amused and angered  at the same time by the way the evening turned out.
