Uty Pius – Bo-Ekom

Songs from her last EP, released around her Southampton One Voice concert of 2018, are still diffusing through and Uty Pius has allowed us the time to soak in those green melodies. But she’s back! This time, we’ll get out of our seats to dance to ‘Bo Ekom’.

Known for her passionate singing and anointed ministrations, Uty Pius also serves God with commitment and when you listen to her, you will note the gift of worship delivered on penetrating melodies.

‘Bo Ekom’ is one more song with just these trappings all over. Written by Uty Pius in her ancestral dialect of Ibibio/Efik and English, the track, a single, was produced by Tobass Adolphus. The music is mildly metallic and heavily rhythmic, a native Hi-life one, unmistakably African.

Transliterated ‘Receive Thanks’, Bo Ekom is the Ibibio way of directing appreciation for many favours one has enjoyed towards a specific beneficiary. Here, Uty Pius, who is Nigerian born, is leading you to offer joyous Thanksgiving to God the Nigerian style and be celebrating alongside.

Listen, Enjoy and Share!
