“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” - Psalm 127:1

Having a genuine and sweet relationship with God inspires every area of one’s life. It affects your career, health, finance and even your marriage. It is the foundation for love and a cordial relationship with humans. It is God’s love in you, which comes from your constant fellowship with Him that helps you build a life characterised by His nature.

Marriage is majorly spiritual. So, when it is approached from the carnal perspective, it has the tendency to fail.
This is because a carnal man cannot walk in the nature of God, which is love. Though he has an idea of what love should be, but his human nature would not permit him to walk in the fullness of it. You would agree with me that some circumstance would make you want to go across the border, if not for the nature of Christ that is in you.

For the Bible say that the love of Christ constraineth us. That is He withholds us from doing what naturally, our human nature would have permitted us to do. So, without the love of Christ, you might not be able to build the kind of relationship that your marriage needs to stand the test of time. That is why most unbelievers are challenged maritally today and it is creeping into the church.

If believers would take their stand for God, and allow their hearts to be fully sold out to Him, then they would sweatlessly walk in the reality of His love. When that is achieved, it would affect the marriage institution because marriages will only last when you add a divine touch to it. When both the husband and the wife have a working relationship with God, they can pray together, worship and discuss life issues in unity. Their mutual relationship with God moves their own relationship beyond the physical into the spiritual, making their love stronger, purer and more enduring. As you walk on your relationship with God, your marriage will truly be built to last.
