Topic: Enjoying Marital Bliss
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” -Psalm 37:5-
Someone shared a story of how she was been pressured by her friends to get married, because they were all married excluding her. At a point it was all getting to her to the extent she started getting desperate. One day, she thought within herself that if what her friends were saying about marriage was true, why didn’t what she saw correlate with what they said?
So, the next time they brought up the topic to her, she asked them: “You have pressured me so much about marriage, but are you happy being married?” They all kept quiet and you know what that meant.
So many married people today are not enjoying the bliss God has intended for them in marriage. So many expectations have not been met and some already feel frustrated and let down. However, the happenings notwithstanding, do not erase the fact that God’s plan for your marriage and family life are good and solely intended for your benefit. God has programmed your family life to be an outstanding success. He does not at all desire that your marriage fails, but that it succeeds; and so the responsibility is yours to discover what it takes to make it so.
One way you can do this, is to trust Him completely, knowing that you cannot be misled when He leads. When you trust God to direct every part of your marital life, by totally surrendering your marriage and family to His will and dictate, He takes it from you, moulds it, and makes it into the perfect image He had for you. God is the author of marriage and who knows better about a product than the manufacturer?
As you hand over your marriage to Him in faith and prayers, searching deeply His Word for directions on how to build and manage your marriage and family, He turns your home into a perfect building that the world would admire. With Him, you can successfully walk this aisle; trust Him, and He would direct your path.
